Polishing and Paint Restoration are one of the more valuable services that a detailer can provide. It is a multiple step process that can reverse the affects of paint wear. Polishing removes scratches from a vehicles paint by using a series of abrasive compounds to "smooth" out the imperfections in the clear coat. These imperfections are anything from light surface scratches, swirls, water spots, even heavy scratches that have not scratched deeper than the vehicles clear coat. Polishing can make a 15 year old vehicle look brand new again.
Some of the products used are a heavy compound, a light compound, and a polish. These will take out pretty much any scratch that is repairable but it will leave your paint completely bare and it will need to be protected so we follow polishing up with either a paint sealant or a wax.

Even tough scratches disappear
In order to polish a vehicle a number of steps are necessary: a wax stripping wash, a full clay bar treatment, 2 or 3 step polishing process, and the paint must be protected, usually by a sealant or wax. From start to finish most polishes take between 6-8 hours of work depending on the size of the vehicle and the condition of the paint.
